French accordionist Fabrice Sicco, now living in Toronto, transports audiences to the cafés of Paris through his subtle, melodious phrasings. A recipient of the Best Traditional Jazz Album Award (2000) and of the Jeff Healey Award (2010) presented by the Canadian Collectors' Congress, Fabrice performs as a solo artist as well as a member of various bands. Fabrice has appeared at numerous prestigious venues, including the Sound of Toronto Jazz series, the Distillery Jazz Festival, the Peterborough Jazz Festival and the Du Maurier Downtown Jazz Festival. Toronto Star music critic, Geoff Chapman had this to say about Fabrice's playing: "…it was grand to hear Fabrice Sicco assert his accordion, thus adding a rich textured cushion of sound - and making the mood even more Parisian".
Self-taught on chromatic button accordion, guitar and other instruments, Fabrice has composed for award-winning films. His own band, Swing Valse, offers a repertory of musical forms evoking cosmopolitan Parisian life from the 1920s to 1950s, including valses musette, chansons, gypsy music and swing.
